Sullivan & Cromwell: This is a US based firm, recruiting for their London office, which is the largest office after New York. Their practice areas include: M&A and private equity; capital markets; credit, leveraged and acquisition finance; project finance; competition law; criminal defence and investigations and tax. Training contracts with S&C will be divided into four six-month seats, covering at least three practice areas. Although you will be working on international work every day in London, they aim to provide trainees who are interested, the opportunity to spend time in one of their other offices. This will primarily be in New York or Hong Kong, although there may also be openings for trainees to spend time in one of the other offices in Europe or Asia. They cover the fees for the LPC and GDL as well as a maintenance grant. They are one of the highest paying law firms.
