Many Barristers offer mini pupillages for 1st year students. They are generally 3-5 days in length and can run often any time during the year. You should look to secure a number of these if you can. Breaking into chambers is notoriously competitive, so gaining early work experience will stand you in good stead when applying for a pupillage.
