NATS: The NATS Graduate scheme is available in both Engineering and Science. In the Engineering Scheme, you can choose between a wide variety of roles ranging from Systems Architecture, Design and Software Development to Project and Systems Engineering, Asset Support and Maintenance and Operational Engineering. Whichever you pick, you’ll rotate through various engineering departments. You could find yourself in Systems Safety, Communications, Navigation, Surveillance or Simulators, at an airport or part of our NATS Services Project Delivery team. You need a degree in an engineering or physics discipline. The science graduate scheme is aimed at recruiting graduates who are eager to go straight to the forefront of international air traffic management research. You will work in either Operational Analysis, R&D or Human Factors. As a graduate, you’ll carry out various placements during your first year to gain on-the-job experience across distinct projects. At the end of your first year, you will focus on work relating to your longer-term role. You require a science based degree and for the Human factors role Ergonomics or Occupational Psychology would be an advantage.
