Kier offer a number of degree apprenticeships:
Civil engineering
This BSc Honours degree programme, in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University, will give you a professional career pathway into the fast growing and exciting construction Industry,
On this fully-funded degree programme you will attend 4 one-week teaching blocks each year, where accommodation and meals will also be provided. The rest of the year you will be working full-time, gaining valuable experience towards your professional development.
- Planning, designing and supporting construction and maintenance of infrastructure aiming to improve and protect the environment in which we live
- As you develop responsibilities will include site investigations, liaising with clients and subcontractors as well as internal Kier teams
- Manage budgets and resources
- Ensuring projects run to health and safety, sustainability and legal requirements
- 96 UCAS points from a minimum of 2 A-Levels (or equivalent)
- 4 GCSEs (including English Language and Science Grade C or above and Maths Grade B or above)
Quantity surveying

Supporting the senior commercial team, you’ll be hands-on by visiting site and working with the leadership team.

You’ll work across the whole of the commercial and pre-construction department, providing assistance in risk and value management, cost control, cost analysis, estimates and commercial management.

BTEC National Certificate or Diploma or Extended Diploma in Building, Construction, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying

With the support of experienced Construction Managers, you’ll be assigned responsibility for a project section or work package, where you’ll manage on-site health and safety and quality, and the establishment and use of environmental restrictions.

The role will include liaising with third parties such as councils and utilities, managing subcontractors, and reporting on the project’s progress.
