GSK -Work Experience Placements in R&D, IT and Lab based
GSKis a large pharmaceutical company. They offer a limited number of work experience placements for school students each year at their sites in the UK.
GSK headquarters, Brentford.
Work experience placements offered at GSK headquarters in Brentford are open to students from schools in the London Borough of Hounslow on work experience programmes organised by their school and Hounslow Education Business Partnership (HEBP). You must be in Year 10 or above at the start of the placement to be considered for a placement. Applications must be made through HEBP, which can advise you about the opportunities and application procedures.
GSK’s Research & Development, Stevenage and Ware (Hertfordshire) and Harlow (Essex):
There is one annual work experience programme that offers a small number of places in the February half term. This annual programme is only open to students in Year 12 or 13 studying science and attending schools that are local to the R&D sites.
Laboratory based placements (incl Microbiology):
Students must have grade A in a GCSE science subject or combined sciences. Maths grade A GCSE level is preferable but not essential.
Students must be studying a relevant science subject at A level.
IT based placements:
Students must have grade A-C in a GCSE science subject or combined sciences.
Students must be studying ICT and/or science at A level.
