Burges Salmon Training Contract
Burges Salmon: They incorporate six seats into the training contract rather than the usual four. This allows you maximum exposure to all areas of the firm’s work. They offer a great deal of flexibility within the training contract to ensure it caters for your interests and abilities. You will spend the first four seats alternating between the main departments of Corporate or Banking or Commercial; Real Estate; Tax & Trusts or Employment and Environmental & Planning or Commercial Disputes & Construction or Agriculture & Property Disputes. The specialist area in which you sit within each department is up to you. Alternatively, you may choose to have a more general seat experiencing a broad range of work across the department.Your fifth seat is an option seat, in which you can select any area of the firm to spend your seat. You could either choose to revisit a department of particular interest, or move into an entirely new area. The final seat is your qualification seat. This is spent in the department in which you have chosen to qualify, thereby allowing you to build the necessary skills and contacts for a smooth transition on qualification. Burges Salmon pay both fees and maintenance for the LPC and GDL once you have been offered a training contract with them.
