What do we do?
The Student Ladder was set up a number of years ago to help students from 16-24 find constructive work experience. It is a destination aimed to bring students looking for work with employers offering it. We aim to provide as many job opportunities/schemes for students that we can, not just those companies that advertise with us. This way, the site offers a comprehensive one stop shop for students looking for work, across all sectors. You will not find another site with more listed work placements.
Who are we helping?
The Student Ladder provides roles for 16 year olds at school looking for work experience, 18 years old looking for apprenticeships and university students looking for internships, industrial placements and graduates looking for full time roles.
Why?
Increasingly employers value students with experience of working in a corporate environment over purely academic qualifications. Carrying out a number of internships and job placements during your time studying, will provide a competitive advantage when you apply for a full time role. Particularly if you can gain some experience of a sector you want to work in in the long term.
Work experience also helps students decide whether they enjoy a particular type of work. Having completed an internship, you will have a good insight into that particular environment and whether it interests you in the longer term.
What else?
As well as jobs, The Student Ladder provides advice and information with regard job applications; covering online tests, CVs, interviews and assessment centres. We also outline a number of careers and provide a description of each job role, as most students know little about the variety of career paths that are on offer.
