UK Power Networks Graduate Scheme
UK Power Networks: They offer two programmes, Engineering and Business & Commercial Management. Their engineering programme is accredited by the Institute of Engineering & Technology. There are two phases in the programme. The first phase involves a variety of courses and placements in a business area. Some of the courses include; distribution network awareness, training on three main crafts; jointing, fitting, working on overhead lines; linking and fusing and High Voltage (HV) switching. You’ll then progress into a supported placement during the final six months. As with the engineering programme, the Business & Commercial Programme initial training will last for 12 months. This will be followed by two, one-year supported placements. Your home base will be London, South East or East England. For the Engineering Graduate Programme, you’ll need to have gained a 2:2 in electrical engineering, specialising in an electrical or power engineering module. For Commercial Graduate Scheme, you’ll need a 2:2 in generalist or business management degree.
