Lloyds: Is not a company but an insurance market. It is a unique market, where brokers from around the globe bring their clients’ risks and negotiate face-to-face with the underwriters who cover them. The Corporation of Lloyd’s provides the platform for this extremely specialised marketplace. LLoyd’s run 2 graduate programmes; a Generalist Graduate Programme or the Claims Graduate Programme. The first programme is 18 months in length and you’ll choose three placements from a number of options. You could be examining the potential impact catastrophes might have on Lloyd’s. You could be managing relationships with international regulators. You could be helping underwriting specialists assess risks in the market itself. The Claims Programme runs over 12 months and you’ll take on two placements and a series of job-shadowing opportunities. Placements are with managing agents, broking house or lawyers.
