Barratt is one of the largest house builders in the UK. They offer 2 sponsored degree programmes -Trainee Site Manager or Trainee Quantity Surveyor. They havecollaborated with Sheffield Hallam University to offer paid-for degree programmes where you can work on real projects while you study.The five-year programme provides the essential combination of university learning and hands-on work.

• Sponsored Commercial degree: This programme will train you up to become a future Quantity Surveyor; looking after the commercial side of the business. You’ll work in the office and have time on-site, managing sub-contractors while also preparing and monitoring site costs and conducting build cost analysis and budgeting in order to make sure we have all the services and materials we need to build quality homes.
• Sponsored Construction degree: This programme will train you up to become a future Site Manager; making sure that buildings get built to a high-quality and as efficiently as possible. If you want to be on-site, delivering against targets and taking ownership over entire developments then this programme is for you.

You’ll spend most of your time working on real projects, learning by doing and making a real difference for our customers. Throughout the year, in four one-week blocks, you’ll build on what you’ve learned in practice with specific university teaching to help you get your degree from Sheffield Hallam.

To join the programme, you need a minimum of 1 A-Level & 4 GCSEs (C or above) including Maths and English or the equivalent.
