12 Kings Bench Walk. Pupils generally have three or four pupil supervisors throughout the year. You can expect to see a broad range of civil work, in particular in the fields of personal injury, clinical negligence and professional negligence, employment law, and insurance. In the first six months of your pupillage the majority of your time is spent going to court and doing paperwork for your pupil supervisor. However, they also ensure that you are given an opportunity to get to know other members of chambers too. In particular, towards the end of the non-practising first six months, you are encouraged to go to court with the more junior members of chambers in order to gain relevant experience before you start taking your own cases. In the second six months you learn to cope with handling a busy practice from the start, and gain a high level of advocacy experience.
