Insights into Law

They are generally 3-5 days in length and can run often any time during the year.

Be aware that many law firms employ critical thinking tests as part of their recruitment process. A popular one is the Watson Glaser. Practice these tests  HERE

Law - Barristers: A - E

  • 7 Bedford Row – 1 week
  • 25 Bedford Row - 1 week at Easter and Summer
  • 36 Group – 2 courses each year lasting 4 weeks. The first mid March and the 2nd mid November. They take 3 pupils on each course. two mini–pupillage courses each year, lasting a four week period. The first is held from March to April, the second is from mid-November to mid-December. On each occasion we take 3 mini–pupils per week.two mini–pupillage courses each year, lasting a four week period.   • Blackstone Chambers – Assessed mini pupillage. Applications accepted from October to April.
  • Brick Court Chambers – 1 week assessed.
  • Carmelite Chambers - Offer them occasionally
  • College Chambers – 1 week in Southampton
  • One Essex Court – 1-2 days, running throughout the year.
  • 20 Essex Street – 2 day a number of times per year
  • ThirtyNine Essex Street Chambers –Assessed. 1 week.
  • Exchange Chambers – 3 days – both assessed or non-assessed.

Law - Barristers: F - L


  • Farrar’s Building – 3 days over Easter or Summer.
  • 4-5 Greys Inn Square – 2-3 days.
  • Hailsham Chambers – 3 days between September and July.
  • Hardwicke – 1 week offered eight times each quarter. Hardwicke also part of the Pegasus Access Scheme for candidates from under representative backgrounds.
  • 1 Hare Court - Available in term time only, twice a year – open to undergraduates with an interest in family law.
  • Henderson Chambers – 3-5 days.
  • Keating Chambers – Informally assessed. 3 days in term time.
  • 1 Kings Bench Walk – Offer 30 mini pupillages, annually at three different times of the year.
  • 7 KBW - 3 days offered 3 times a year.
  • Landmark – 50 places on offer, of 3-5 days in length, across 3 sessions per year.
